The global e-commerce service for payment and transfer of money on internet, PayPal, put Serbia in its list of countries where the service is available.

The Serbian Minister of Foreign and Domestic Trade and Telecommunications, Mr Ljajic, said “This is a great thing for the Serbian economy, consumers and all citizens,”.

In January 2013, the industrial production in Serbia has increased of 2.4% compared to January 2012. Mining and quarrying sectors are the one with the highest year-on-year increase (11.4%), then comes manufacturing industries and more specifically the automotive industry with a year-on-year increase of 3.2%.

The bill on the ratification of the cooperation agreement between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates was adopted by the Serbian government.

This follows the visit of the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Vucic, in the UAE. During this visit he discussed with Foreign Minister H.h. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on bilateral relations and the ways to enhance it.

The first Serbian power plant using biomass and solid organic waste will be built by next year in Čajetina (located in south west Serbia). This power plant will have a power capacity of 1.6MW and is one of the six that will be built in this area.

One of the leading world manufacturers of construction material, Saint-Gobain Weber purchases Serbian privately-owned Karbon, located in Topola (central Serbia). The company announced its will to keep the 70 employees and to hire new workforce for the renovation of the existing plant.
