The German company Entrade Gruppe is planning to start this year the building of a 3.4 megawatt biogas-fired power plant in the city of Kraljevo (located in Central Serbia).

Entrade Gruppe released that it already received the approvment from the Serbian Ministry of Environment. This power plant will use as feedstock slaughterhouse waste in order to produce biogas. Then this biogas will be used to generate energy.

Jane Armitage, the Regional Coordinator of the World Bank for South East Europe, said that the World Bank is ready to approve a loan of 400M€ to Serbia under certain preconditions related to the gradual reduction of deficit.

The Serbian new cabinet was elected by the Serbian Parliament last week. Led by the new Prime Minister, Mr Dacic, this government consists in 17 ministries with 19 officials to run them.

Prime Minister, Ivica Dacic, presented the programme of the new government. It has 3 main priorities: EU integration, economic progress and talks with Kosovo. He announced that ” Serbia is offering a hand of reconciliation. Let’s not concern ourselves with the past anymore. Let’s look to the future.”

The Swiss group Nestle announced that it plans to invest 5M€ in Serbia. This investment will be dedicated to the upgrade of its production unit located in Surcin (close to Belgrade).

Lidl, the German discounter, has the project to purchase a 5,700 sqm land plot in the city of Valjevo (south of Belgrade). On this land, LIDL would build a supermarket, that would be opened next year.
